Electronic Cuba visas replaced the paper Cuban tourist card in 2026

Cuban electronic e-Visas are required for all visitors except Cuban passport holders and Cuban residents. Electronic Cuba visas can be purchased from online agencies and Cuban Consulates. You must buy an e-visa in advance of travel to Cuba. Paper visas are no longer available at airline check-in counters. Costs and delivery times vary dramatically. Cuban e-Visas are good for 90-day stays. You can renew your e-Visa while in Cuba for another 90 days. Our visas are valid for eleven months from date of purchase and are single entry only.

Cuba Explorer’s Terms and Conditions constitute a traveler’s Bill of Rights. We strive for clarity, aim to protect our travelers, and ensure you receive promised services. Visitor health, ease, comfort, enjoyment, and safety is our ethos.

Legal Cuba travel for Americans with Cuba Explorer

Cuba Explorer is licensed by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) under section 31 CFR §515.572(a)(1) to send Americans to Cuba legally.

Legal Cuba travel and US policy changes. Should Washington add travel restrictions that prevent you from visiting Cuba, we will refund all money received, including deposits, immediately.

New Cancel for Any Reason travel protection

Payments are processed by Zunzun Education Services, our parent company.

Tour deposit. After registering for a tour and paying a deposit, you have a 48-hour grace period to cancel your tour registration. If you cancel within 48 hours, your deposit will be returned in full.

Final travel payment is due 30 days before departure.

Notice of cancellation must be received by email, electronic messaging, or telephone.

Cancel for any reason up to 15 days before arrival. All payments received, less your deposit, are fully refunded if you chose a hotel. Private home accommodation cancellations require 30 days notice.

Cancellation 14 days before arrival for hotel stays (29 days for private home accommodations). Fifty percent of your payments are held in trust as a credit toward future travel. The other half is forfeited. You can transfer your travel credits to family or friends.

Refunds and credits are not extended to participants who don’t show up, arrive late for a tour, depart early, or miss air flights. Please consider trip cancellation and interruption insurance.

Shared rooms and cancellation. If you cancel your tour and were sharing a room with another tour participant who proceeds with travel, the cost of a single room supplement will be deducted from your refund or credits.

Trip cancelation and interruption insurance

Travel insurance covers most things that can go wrong before or during your trip. Don’t let illness, injury, or work issues result in financial loss. We strongly encourage you to purchase insurance to protect your travel investment.

When horrible things cause tours to be canceled

Tours are canceled if natural disasters, global economic instability, USA military, economic, or political aggression against the destination country, pandemics, or acts of God prevent travel. These types of awful events are known as “force majeure.” All money you’ve paid to us for services is credited-in-full for future travel. We cannot refund air tickets. These examples are often refundable when you purchase separate travel “cancelation for any reason” insurance coverage.

Reduction in website prices listed for our public tours

Some times, we reduce public tour prices in an attempt to rescue prepaid rooms and services. If a public tour price is decreased, a traveler who paid a higher cost will not be reimbursed for the difference.

Cuba conditions are different than in the USA

Cuba has social and economic features due to the US blockade of the island, which may not appeal to you, including weather, food, water, local customs, combined with an aging infrastructure. Island living standards, conditions, services, and accommodations are much lower than the United States. We cannot be held accountable or liable for these differences.

Scope of services and program changes

Our services comprise and include everything listed in the tour package you purchased. We reserve the right to replace itinerary activities and substitute accommodations mentioned in your itinerary with similar activities and accommodations as things often change in Cuba.

Respecting Cuban laws, diversity, and participant protections

Tour participants must obey the laws of Cuba. Failure to do so relieves us of all obligations to the traveler. Travelers denied entry into Cuba can hold no claim against us. Services will be denied to participants whose conduct and behavior, before or during travel, impedes the safe, enjoyable course of a tour. We have a zero-tolerance policy against threatening, harassing or shaming tour participants based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion, age, and disability. These policies follow the constitutional and social norms of Cuba.
